The editorial board accepts articles, reviews, source reports, conference proceedings and other reports has not been published, nor is being considered for publication elsewhere, meeting the formal requirements. The texts submitted will be reviewed by the editorial office within six months. The editorial board reserves the right to return the manuscript to the author by means of a recast proposal.

Manuscripts should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief by e-mail. It is also desirable to submit tables and figures in a separate file. Authors should use the footnotes generated by word- processing softwares. Every author should submit an abstract with a length of 1000-1500 characters in Hungarian, along with the submission of the paper.

 

The manuscript is accepted by the editorial board only if using the following reference system. Texts that have been accepted but without containing the indicated reference system are returned to the author for reconsideration. The manuscript should have a length of one sheet (40,000 characters), but can be up to 60,000 characters. If the length of the paper accepted exceeds this, the editorial board will return the text to the author for recasting. In the case of reviews, please include all the bibliometric data (publisher, page number, attachments, maps, illustrations, series title) for the reviewed work(s), and translate the titles in case of reviewing foreign literature []. For a longer review containing, authors should indicate the references also at the end of the paper. For a shorter review, please refer to the full bibliographic description at every occurence.

 

References

Literature references, source references and every note should be included in footnotes.

The literature references should respect the following order: Author Year: page number. (eg. Nagy 1988: 23.) In case of multiple authors: Author – Author Year: page number. (eg. Berger – Luckmann 1998: 104–105.)

Source citations should follow the appropriate format of the differente source types (archives, newspapers, interviews, etc.)

Regarding archives authors should use abbreviations (eg. VML IV. 401. b. 13789/1935.), and should write the whole form at the end of the paper.

After the paper, the archives, bibliographic and other sources should be listed first (eg. interview: who made, with who, when was it made) For example:

The references should follow the list of sources, at the end of the publication, listing each reference in alphabetical order. Only the references indicated in the footnotes should be included in the references!

  • The abbreviations of p., pp., o., old., i.m., ld., uo. should not be used!
  • Pay special attention to the correct use of divider (-) and hyphen (–)! (Hyphen should be taken between numbers, years and page numbers!)
  • Centuries should be marked with Arabic numbers.
  • Quotation marks should be used: „ ”. Quotation inside quotation should be marked with »«.
  • Misspellings of the source report should be taken in  […].
  • The comment of the author or translator should follow the format : (The Author) (The Translator) (Highlighting by me – X. Y.).
  • The % always adheres to the number!
